Workshop for 5 to 7 year olds.

Science educator and sonic artist Dr Claire Pannell explores how sounds are made through stories and instrument making.

Following a story telling from Dr Seuss’ Horton hears a Who children will explore how sounds are made and how they are amplified. First they will make Horton ears (cone shaped elephant ears) and explore how it amplifies sounds. Then they make a simple noisemaking instrument called a quacking cup made from simple materials (foam cups, string, dishwashing sponges and water) to take home.
