Work: Sound Flowers
Bio: Chris Reddington works in Christchurch as a sculptor, composer, ensemble director and musician. Recent work has developed into combinations of a variety of sculptural and musical interests, both in musical performances using sculptural objects and in sound sculptures, including Song Song, a sound sculpture for CPIT commemorating lives lost in the Christchurch earthquakes of 2011. He has worked for the University of Canterbury Theatre and Film department as the Technical Director and Designer, and for the Free Theatre in set design, set construction, music direction and musical performance. As a musician he is the founder, composer/arranger, pianist and manager of Christchurch based Silencio Ensemble which was set up in 2004 to help support and build interest in contemporary ensemble music.
